If you look at the cut away view of the EZ Lube system in the
Dexter literature you will see why it takes a lot of grease. The grease must flow thru the inlet port to the rear of the hub, then thru the rear bearing, then thru the center portion of the hub filling any void there, then thru the outer bearing, before exiting the front.
Many people put in just a very few pumps. That will get grease to the rear bearing but not the front bearing. Unless you see grease coming out the front of the hub, you can't be sure you got the outer bearing greased.
