In my experience RV dealers tend to be high priced and not very knowledgeable on hitch installs. That may sound odd since they sell trailers but it seems their experience with hitches is limited to low end hitches they may throw into the deal. Every RV dealer I've dealt with had no clue to the various types of hitches and whats needed to install for my particular TT and TV.
I found this same exact situation with our local Jayco dealer (Camping World). Having never owned a fifth wheel trailer before, I had a lot of questions about different types of hitches, pin boxes, etc. The salesman had no idea. Even when looking at the optional pin boxes Jayco offered on the trailer, he had heard of one, but had no idea what the other one was. I had to google it when I got home.
