Same here... remove the front wheels and lay the bikes in the bed of the truck in front of the hitch. Plenty of room with an 8 foot bed, but a bit tight with a 6.5. Works, but a bit of a PITA getting them in and out. Thought about having a receiver attached to the pin box, but don't want to have to reach that high go get them down. Thought about a rack on the ladder, but I've seen too many bikes 'riding rough', and I'm not too comfortable with the toll it might take on the ladder mounts, especially when I can't watch them. I liked the idea of mounting a receiver on the front of the truck, but don't care for the loss of road visibility, and the fact that the bikes will be the first to hit the bugs, road crud, etc. All that leaves is mounting a receiver to the rear frame as we, too, have a 'bumper-less' back end. So, until an idea that I like better comes along, it's the truck bed for us.
