For me you are going in the wrong direction. You want to travel not just park. A long FW eliminates 40% to 60% of the RV parks in the Country. Do not depend on forum comments on this, check with camp grounds and particularly National camp grounds. Many are made for no longer than 30 to 34 foot rigs. Do not depend on the model number for length. Take a tape and measure. You will be surprised at what you find. We purchased a model 36 that measures 40 feet and have had to adjust our desires because of the length. We enjoy our FW, but if we get another one it will be 30 feet. Look at a Cardinal 30-30 and similar FW's. The new ones designed with every comfort and feature, and are roomy. This class of FW is well made and supported by the manufacturer. If you can afford new; buy new. Used is a gamble and unless you are knowledgeable in finding hidden problems, they will find you.
Either way, you will enjoy a FW, but I believe a 30 footer will give more.
Good luck and happy travels,
Good point, the (nearly) 40 ft rigs fit in few public campgrounds, actually not a few private lack space for them also.
Which points them to the 27-5L it sounds like they will look at.
One other point on Northwoods in general, they put storage EVERYWHERE, even, sometimes, in the stairs going up to the bathroom/bedroom.
