We have had both. I personally like the setup we have now better (bed in slide) because of the full length bed, larger closet area and dresser drawers that our front to back layout did not offer. I do sometimes wish however, we would have chosen a unit with a larger bedroom slide that offered bedside table and king size bed (ours is a queen that is the width of the slide so no option to change). Being only vacationers though vs seasonals or full-timers, it is not that big of a deal. We have plenty if walk space on both sides of the bed. I will say though that I did like the big windows on both sides of bedroom with the front to back bed layout. The little windows right by our heads are not as appealing to me but the layout of space, I believe is better. No issue with noise or temp in either layout for us.
