which is better orientation of the MBR on fifthwheel

We are in the market for fifth wheel there are 2 ways the bed is orientated. need advise on the advantages and disadvantages of both .Thanks

Anyone having issues with noise, temp, space for night stand, and over all comfort?
  • Bed on a slide is the only way to go for any room in the bedroom. I wonder if you're talking about front or back bedroom though. I've heard all kinds of pros and cons although front ones seem to be the majority made.

The absolutely MOST important consideration with any RV, but most important on a 5er.....We bought a top of the line 5er with 5 slides and could NOT use any of it with the slides closed, our mistake for NOT seeing it with ALL slides closed.
  • Cross wise will give you a real big closet. It also allows for a regulation king bed. The slide room on mine only goes out about 18 inches. Not a big deal.
  • A lot will depend on the length and weight that you want. Suggest that you go to some RV shows and spend time in some units. You can find a standard queen without a bed slide. We wanted to stay shorter and lighter, so we opted for a closet slide. The closet is not as big, but fine for us for our 4 to 8 week trips. We also liked the layout because we got real nightstands on both side of the bed. In the end, it was what could we access with slides in (like fridge).
  • IMHO Slide out is the only way.

Ideally if you can get a king slide with a queen bed.
The reason I say this is it will leave more room on each side for making the bed.

  • In my opinion, extended trips are doable only if you have the full-width closet, which means a slide-out in bedroom. If you are only doing week-end trips then you can get by without full-width closet.
  • IMO, it is all about personal opinion. We prefer the N/S orientation as that will give you more closet and drawers in 2 bedroom slides but does restrict you to a queen bed.
  • Crosswise requires a slide which means more weight, but will allow for more closet space. Crosswise also allows for real queen or king bed.
