We have a 38ft 5th wheel pulled with a crew cab long bed dually. A couple of times we have had to go the wrong way on a campground loop to get into a spot.
Other times I've had to get the 5th wheel to a certain spot in the site and then unhitch the truck to reposition it to move the 5th wheel where I wanted it to be.
At one of our favorite spots I actually have to parallel park the 38ft 5th wheel in a 45ft long spot. This requires getting the tailend in to the spot. Unhitching and then placing the truck at a 90° angle to the 5th wheel hitch it back up and push the front end of the 5th wheel into place. It's fun to watch all of the non-5th wheel RV'ers come over and watch how I accomplish the task. Lot's of "I wasn't sure how you were going to get it in there" comments.
Moral of the post- usually there is a way to get it in to a spot with practice.
