Which Roof Vent Cover Mfg. ??

MaxxAir, VentMate, Camco, others ??? Which is best value/dollar? Which color? Do they always come with installation hardware?? Shopping for a vent cover for the standard roof vent, (not over a fancy fan). And Where to buy? Thanks folks.

  • Stupid, slightly off topic,

What do these things really do? Any reason to add one to my pop ups roof vent?

    Thanks!

Had a Camco on one vent and it broke in many pieces due to heavy snow. The other 3 were Maxxair and were fine. Now all are Maxxair!
  • After stubbornly sticking with Areo Vent for years I finally give up. After even improving there plastic cover I keep finding shattered plastic on the roof. Gets brittle even after a years use.
  • I believe mine are Camco and I like them because the top portion is easily removable via a hinged cover to clean the mildew and dust from the inside.
  • In that demo, I would bet $$ that the fan-tastic vent cover doesn't have a screen. The Maxx-Air has window screen that is easily removable. A screen blocks a lot of airflow.
  • I have used MaxAir they are a nice product. I used Fantastic Vent Covers recently on my MobileSuites, they are the best all around by far!

  • I have the MaxxAir. They came with all necessary hardware. Frankly I don't think there's a big difference between the manufacturers. Get what's cheapest. At the time I bought them they were on sale and cheaper than the camco. They've held up well, no sign of deterioration.
  • Have two white camco covers. Have held up well and came with all hardware for install. The maxxair would be easier to remove for cleaning but for less than $20 ea, I can deal it.
