In the event of a major disaster (SHTF) I've thought about going remote in my RV, but I decided it would be best to stay put at home, hunker down and protect my family. Forget about cars/trucks, generators and electricity. Concentrate on basic survival needs.
Make sure you have water, canned/dried foods, seeds to grow food, as well as the means to collect and purify water. Try to stock pile prescription meds ahead of time. Guns and ammo to protect your family from looters and depending where you live to hunt for food.
