Well.... I'm looking at staying under 30 feet if I can.

Unless you're looking at a TH, you're unlikely to find an OEM genset. Not saying that they're not available, but unlikely. I do know that Jayco's Eagle HT 27.5RLTS is now available with genprep, and it's right at 31'. Not sure about the other Eagle HTs.

The little 2.8 would run one major draw. A 5500 would run most of everthing at the same time and be quieter as well. No on hooking the Onan and Yamaha together, not designed to be bridged.colliehauler wrote:
Some mfgs offer a generator prep pkg. If available you could reuse your Onan.
I know Jayco does.
But would my 2.8 be big enough for the A/C in a 5th wheel?
& might I be able to hook it up to my Yamaha 2000 Geni to bump it up to a 4800 geni?
The factory geni would be about a 5500 Geni. - Blanco1Explorer

We had one in our big Horn Silverado, I took it out prior to trading because they were offering so little. It won't go in our Grand design, so it sits in the garage. Been thinking about wiring to the house as a backup.
I was considering the same thing with my 2.8 Onan thats in my Truck Camper.
The outside of the TC has been getting beat up over the years with wood rot & other things & so I'm not like to get much for the TC, But I'll keep the Geni & practically give the TC away. - laknoxNomadNearly all mfrs offer OEM gennies in their bigger rigs, as far as I can tell.
Lyle - Redwood, Cedar Creeks, Jayco Pinnacle, Landmark, KZ Durango, and the Durango Gold . I think most of the mid size and up fifth wheels have it as an option..
- HalmfamilyExplorerFR Cardinal and Cedar Creek. Vanleigh Vilano along with most toy haulers.
- RVcrazyExplorerNorthwood mfg. If looking used, Nuwa Hitchhiker also. They are propane.
