I'd sure like to know what you are smokin'! Because I'm just plain exhausted! Seems everything is a difficult learning curve on the new 5er opposed to over 30-40-50 years of bumper pull travel ex...

I attach my safety cable to the pin that holds the handle closed on my B&W.
For hitching up I look in the rear view mirror and use the center head rest holes (Headrest removed) until I get a couple feet away then I turn myself a little in the seat and look over my shoulder. Sometimes the wife will raise or lower the 5er to set the pin height for me if I missed it on the initial try.
I could see a DRW being an issue for me hooking up the safety cable. For now I just climb up on the left rear tire on my SRW and hookup the cable when locking the handle. Not sure I could reach the handle with a DRW.
