I've gone back and forth between TT and 5th several times due to financial reason, family size, vehicle capability and other factors. The main pros/cons are well covered in the thread but the one that I just have to take exception with is the hook up time. And for the record I'm currently in a 5th and mostly love it.
BUT, it takes my WAAAAAY longer to hook the 5th then any TT. Just the time I spend standing holding my finger on the landing gear switch I could have hooked/unhooked my TT and WDH 3X. Not to mention lugging the anvil (I mean hitch) in and out of the bed. True, the actual act of backing the truck up and having the 5th jaws snap into position is quick and easy but the 5th is just more complex when you go from start to finish.
Honestly, I'm really not in a hurry when I'm out camping so on a scale of 1-10 this is like a .3 of a negative. I just don't agree with so many that claim a 5th is quicker and easier than a TT.
