With a nod to Colo Native, I have driven both straight trucks, and tractor trailers. I found the 5er is the easiest to maneuver in a tight spot. I can also back up alone in a tight spot. The class A has to drop the toad, unless it is on a trailer.
I also use the pick up as a pick up, so I would have it anyway. I also use it for mild 4 wheeling. A lot of stuff to tear up in the mud on a modern diesel.
I would recommend trying both if you can. Maybe a rental, or borrow from a friend. Throw in an oil change to borrow the 5er?
