Everyone makes their choices for their own reasons. Some turn out to be right. Some turn out to be wrong.
Set out the pros & cons of each one & weight them accordingly. With the $100 to $125K budget a slightly used nice 5er & slightly used truck to go with it can be had. Don't really know what that amount buys in a slightly used class A.
For us the 5er route was taken because a nice 5er could be had for the money & the keeping of the house if the propulsion unit needed repairs. It has happened. We rented a car for a few days while the truck was fixed. There are truck dealers all over. Service centers to deal with class As, not so plentyful. Then there are routine cost differences. 10-11mpg for the truck vs 6-8 for the Class A. $200+ for truck tires vs $400+ for the class A.
Yeah sure, you can park & use without going outside with a class A if it is raining. How often does that happen & what are you prepared to pay for the luxury of doing so? The view is wonderful sitting up higher in the class A. Guess whose face is first to arrive at the scene of a crash with no engine to absorb some of the impact first?
Lots of things to consider.
