For us any MH is a non-starter. In Michigan, registration is based on taxable value, every-single-year. For anything that is towed, its a one time fee (roughly $250) for a permanent plate. I'd have to bring along another car anyway, and just the fact that we are not yet retired would mean it would sit for extended periods of time, and for any powertrain, that is a killer.
We graduated from tent->pop-up->TT, finally to Fifth-wheel last year now that our kids are grown, and if they come, they like to tent it anyway. Just fits better for my wife and I.
