How much wider will the new rig be - 6"? You'll never notice additional width, but you might notice the extra length.
Any and everything comes up the Alcan, the main problem people have is driving too fast. We leave our 40' DP down south because it's too big to use on a steady basis up here, but if you come up, it will most likely be a one time trip and you can make reservations for places where you can get it into.
