Sounds like you have retirementitus. You are looking at 1000 options. Are you sure you will like RVing. I would buy an older, quality 30 ft which is plenty big for 2 people. Towing around Alaska? Do you really only want to stay in parks? Boondocking is amazing. My 27 with truck is 42 ft long. Takes a shoe horn to get it into a Alaskan ferry and they charge by the foot. Parking on the beach at Homer AK? Better have 4wd. Denali hwy 100 miles non paved road through pristine wilderness. This is ALASKA you dream of. 42ft I don't think so. After AK and a trip around the US you will know what you really want. Just my openion. Been there done that.
