Wind deflectors - has anyone used one and do they work

Any one out there ever used a 'Wind deflector'? The kind that mounds on top of the truck cab. I have talked with people and get both yea and nay replies. They cost several hundred dollars so I would h...

Don't have a 5er, but when I tow with the canoe on the top of my truck, the entire rig "seems" to handle much nicer. I don't notice it so much with the canoe ON, but can tell the difference the first trip out after having it on with it OFF! Rather than deflecting the wind UP, it slices the wind in a V and to each side of the trailer, rather than over the top. Fuel mileage, no difference. Sorry.
