Windmill usage

My cousin and her husband have built a '64 GMC bus into an RV and have 8 435w panels on the roof and are using a Nissan Leaf battery (plus one module) to power everything but the water heater. They have a mini-split A/C and 2 window units (one dedicated to cooling the battery bay) and I've seen them running all 3 A/Cs, plus power tools, compressor and =still= charging the battery. :-) In their initial research, they found that people were using these same batteries to make their own "power wall" for a whole lot less than Tesla's charging and for more storage, to boot.

You need to determine what your average wind speed is at your sight. You need to make sure you can get the turbine up at least 30 feet above anything withing 300 feet of it like trees, buildings, etc.
You will need a massive battery bank.
My home is 1,500 square feet. In the winter my outdoor wood stove heats my home and my hot water. I have very good insulation and efficient lighting. The kitchen stove is gas. My home uses about 24 kWh per day on a year around average. We only have 1 TV and 1 computer.

Yep, if you ever plan to bring in grid power...just get it over with and do that first.

Here is a guy who did a mini split on a MH with the plan being to eliminate propane. 2 videos, one for solar system and one for AC. He claims to run a 12k btuh ac system 24/7 on 8 180 watt panels.

Adding the windmill would help since your stationary, especially in the winter when your solar capability is reduced.
His videos aren't the most eloquent, but the systems seem decent.

Probably not worth it to get a wind turbine. Windmills grind grain.

Am curious as to what expense you expect.
I had looked at some units in the 4.5 kw range @ 100 volts

They recommended a 2000 amp/hr battery bank, and the cost would end up over $6k.
And that from my numbers would only cut my electric usage at home by about $70 a month where I live.
I know it's different and has a different value when working with a remote location , but to gain AC usage, I would think your going to come up short. With the system I mentioned and adding 500 to 700 watts of solar, and maybe even switching to a high efficiency mini split system in the 12,000 btuh range it may work.

This unit would still require 13.5 amps at 120 vac to start, but is very low amps while running.
At least the hottest days would be getting the benefit of the solar assist on power.

Unless it's a really windy place, I wouldn't count on it. That's about 12.5mph winds but keep in mind, power output goes up with the square of the speed. Drop back to 6mph and you don't cut the power in half, you might not even have enough to get it spinning. At high wind speeds, many times, the windmill has to be locked down to avoid damage.

Then you need a battery bank that can store enough power for a day or two of light winds.

A typical RV air/con pulls about 10-12amps in operation. So let's say 22amps when it's hot at 120v for 2 units and assume a 50% duty cycle. That's 2.6kw when in operation or about 32kwh over a day. Even if they produce the very optimistic 5.5kwh per day, you are going to need 6-8 windmills...just for the air/con.

Add in 3 tvs, 2 computers, 2 fridges, etc...etc...etc... you are probably up around 10 windmills...IF you can really get 5.5kwh out of each.

Not meaning to be harsh, but unless you've left out critical information, you aren't even in the ball park.
