I have installed two different Trav'lers. I was lucky that in both occasions I was able to mount them directly above the entertainment center. if that is not feasible in your case then srosa's method sounds pretty good.
You will find that the installation is very straight forward but I strongly suggest that you have help getting the base unit onto the roof. That is by far the hardest part.
