Winterizing Question

Besides winterizing the fresh water system is there anything I should do with the black water tank "Santi-flush" spray jets?
Thank You!

Could save some real headaches if handle were to break. RV dealer...tank gasget lubricant.
  • I blow out all my lines with air at 50psi. then pour antifreeze into the draintraps and toilet never had a problem.

That exactly what I'll do.....should be the fix for the flush system.

Or, if you have air available just blow out the line as I do. It is easier.

  • May have to winterize my TT this Winter as it's supposed to get pretty cold here in Ocala, Florida. Last Winter I almost had to put on a long sleeved shirt. LOL
  • My 5er has black tank flush, not sure it is the same as "santi-flush". But I pump antifreeze thru the black tank flush line since it may contain water that could freeze. To do that, when pumping antifreeze thru the fresh water lines, I connect a short hose from the outside shower connection to the black tank flush line connection and let the antifreeze flow thru the flush line. That winterizes both my shower line and the flush line.

If your tank has a built in flusher, I would fill, drain and flush it a few times. Make sure all water is out of tank before closing final time. When winterizing the unit, dump a quart or so of antifreeze down the toilet so the black tank valve is protected.
