I didn't have a guidebook for the Trace, only the brochure from the visitor center and my notes gleaned from the internet. I should have been better prepared with more information about campgrounds and amenities near the route.
The route is an easy drive and traffic is light, much of it is not spectacular but all is nice. Plan on taking some short hikes to see waterfalls and other things of interest.
