WooHoo Jayco

I have been noticing a periodic "electrical smell" in my TH, but everything was working fine. Last week, I went to plug into my 30 amp plug at home and the breaker popped like a dead short. After the dealer in Redding, CA that I had purchased this unit from, called and gave me a $400.00 estimate to replace "the switch box", I gave them the go ahead. When I picked up my TH yesterday, Jayco opted to pick up $300.00 of the cost, as they had been dealing with some other faulty switch boxes. My 2011 Jayco Octane ZX is now six months out of the warrantee period and I will consider purchasing another Jayco when the time comes and yep, I am a happy camper. JH

My previous Jayco 19RD almost burned to the ground due to faulty wiring. No wire nuts or any other protective insulation on 12 volt wire connections in the walls. I have a Jayco so I'm interested in this report. Do you mean that the 12 volt connections were just twisted together bare wire, without using any connector or wire nut? Just bare wire twisted together and not insulated with anything?

  • I am so glad to hear your good news! I don't own a Jayco, but I have always liked their products. I'm glad they stand behind their products.

  • That's great, most manufacturers seem to run the other way as soon as you're out of warranty.
