Have you had the prophylactic fix done to your trailer yet? If so what did they do. Who did you talk to at WW and did you give them your vin number? It is my understanding that it is only the trailers that have their tongue formed by the bending together of the 2 pieces of C channel that run the length of the trailer are in need of the fix. According to the diagram of the fix 2 pieces of C channel are welded in between the point of the bend for the tongue and the front of the trailer and the joint is reinforced with a gusset. On my trailer (date of manufacture 04/04) I have 2 pieces of 6 inch C channel that run from the front to the back of the trailer. The tongue is formed with 2 separate pieces of 6 inch C channel. The geometry of my frame is identical to what the fix accomplishes, less the gussets. Are trailers with my frame geometry getting the gussets welding on to them? I gave WW my vin number and they told me it was not elegible for the fix.

I'm afraid my fix wasn't prophylactic. It was too late. Mine was already broken. The frame was bent, the skin was separating, etc. So they cut the first 10' or so (can't remember without looking at it) of the frame off and replaced it with a new frame piece with a different shape.

I don't know if this is a generic fix or if this was the solution for mine. All I know is that it appears to have fixed what was wrong with mine. They finished the work on time and they didn't charge me for the repairs.

That wasn't the end of my troubles, but at least it fixed the frame. Skim through some of my previous posts in this thread for some examples of ways to prep your trailer before you take it in for repairs. Mitigate your damages.
