Yes the 07 do have the thicker steel. 3/16" thick steel is what it should be at the tongue. The earlier ones had 1/8" thick and bent up over time. The retro WW did was to replace the 1/8" tongues with thicker ones when brought in for the repair. My neighbor had WW do it on his 06 WW.
There's more to it than that. With the "prophylactic fix", they actually cut off the old A-shaped section of the frame and replaced it with an new boxy A. If memory serves me, it looks something like this:
I would look for that additional box shape to ensure that the extra support is there.
