Go with a gooseneck and you will not be sorry. A gooseneck does NOT put any extra stress on the pin or frame.
Simple analogy: The force applied at the head of a nail to remove it does not change regardless of how big or small the hammer is you use to pull it.
You may perceive it is easier to remove the nail with a large hammer and the force you exert on the hammer handle is less but the force the head of the nail requires to start coming out does not change.
Sorry, but your physics is flawed.
One more time, instead of arguing this point ad-nausium, as to which one should be used to tow OP's 5er with, GN or 5er hitch...OP should call the MANUFACTURER and not take my word or your word for it, but get it straight from the horses mouth (IF he's concerned about warranty)...If they say they don't care, then have at it with whatever OP wants to use...BUT if MANUFACTURE states you HAVE to use a traditional 5er hitch to keep warranty intact.....then again, the OP can make his decision from that..The Coachmen Somerset I had as well as the HR Presidential Suite, BOTH manufacturers stated warranty could be adversely affected IF I used a GN to tow their 5er's with.. so I towed with 5er hitch.
