Ya Know Whats Comming Don't Ya???

OK. This is the easiest way to get back into my time on the forums. Still can't lift my arm over shoulder height or stretch my out arm over the keypad for that long--yet!! Lets just say it's been a very l-o-n-g 2 years.

Will update you all as I can but for now Dutch & I would like to wish everyone a

Happy Memorial Day & safe travels if you are on the road this weekend. We're enjoying the holiday in Lake Minden, Red Bluff & Mt. Shasta. Where will you be? . Hugs, Di
  • Hi Di and Happy Memorial Day to you and Dutch. I see you two are on the move and heading to a cooler place for the summer. Glad you're feeling better and as it's my Birthday tomorrow i'm reminded at my age it's MAINTENANCE-MAINTANCE-MAINTANCE.

Enjoy your new location and hope to see you two next winter when you pass through Casa Grande.

Jim and Jane and hello from Minnesota.

Find Veteran selling Buddy Poppies, and donate!

I remember well standing in front of the post office with my mom, who was a member of the auxiliary, selling poppies. I never pass up the chance to give a donation to this day. No matter what your plans, take a few minutes to think about those who gave all this weekend. True heroes, one and all.
  • Welcome back Di. Can't wait to hear all about your "adventures".

My grandfather got me started doing this close to 60 years ago.
My grandfather was a Veteran of WWI, member of VFW.
  • I passed by one of the large cemeteries in town today, and all those flags flapping in the breeze looked great. Must have been 500 or so big flags there.

Happy(?) Memorial Day? Yes, happy knowing there are those who gave some, and some who gave all in past wars and conflicts, so that we can enjoy the freedoms we have. Having been raised by a Commander in the US Navy, the holidays to celebrate and remember those who have served, have always been time for me and my family to reflect and be thankful.

Having been turned down by the recruiters after college (they were all worried about a recent history of 4 fractures in my right leg ...), I was honored when my son enlisted. He is completing his 4th year, Combat Engineer, 2 years to go on this commitment. He is currently somewhere in Afghanistan. These holidays now take on a very different meaning.

Everyone, be safe out there. Remembering and celebrating, from Inks Lake State Park (Texas!).
