rv trader .com

Has anyone used this site to sell a coach and how did it work out ,

Thanks
  • I actually sold my 05 Itasca Horizon on RV trader in 10 days to a buyer 1500 Miles away. Sight unseen, photos only. Received a $5000 dollar deposit. Buyer flew down to Florida to pick-up and finish transaction at my bank and drove it home.

I used RV Trader last summer to sell my Safari. I also listed it on Craigslist and the buyer was from CL. Time frame was less than 2 weeks and most of the buzz was coming from CL over RV Trader.

CL has scammers and rv trader has dealers trying to get you to sign with I use both but sold off CL. Either way you need patience

You are correct both have their little annoyances. Only calls RV Trader generated for me was resellers wanting me to pay them to sell my RV. CL generated maybe a dozen prospects, five or six that came to look, and one solid buyer. There was also one scammer I communicated with very briefly on CL he was an absolute imbecile. I think common sense goes a long way toward not getting scammed but you bet they are out there.

RV Trader also has scammers. The forums have caught and even informed the rightful owners in the past, that their coaches were being listed without their knowledge by scammers.

CL scams are pretty obvious? Usually involves fake check schemes. A common scam asking for a refund for amounts overpaid.

    X10
On RVtrader Your info is sold all over and your ad is ripped off and posted on other sites!!. Worst thing I ever did was list on RVtrader. Don't even go there!

I now use Craigslist for EVERYTHING I sell. The scammers there ARE real obvious to recognize. They are just so dumb and don't know our language so its really easy to pick them out.

In the past 6 years I have only had one scammer who used the wounded vet routine.

IMHO - BEST place to post your RV is on the well respected full-timers club's classified pages. The only buyers you are going to get are real fellow "RV'ers".

Here is my obligatory response to where to sell my RV. :B

You don't have to join the actual Escapees Club to use their forum classified. Just join the forum for free.

    1. Go here:
    http://www.rvnetwork.com/

    2. Upper right hand corner click: create an account

    3. After you joined go to Forums.

    4. Scroll 'all the way down' the page near the bottom to:
    RV MARKET PLACE

5.Post your ad under the forum topic:
RVs, Tows, and Toads for Sale

This is the ONLY place I will sell my RV's and/or RV gear on.

    Good Luck!
  • I had zero calls from rv trader. I have had great luck with CL. It's common sense stuff that you have to pay attention to. It isn't CL or a newspaper classified that is the problem, the problem is people and the way they are now days.
  • CL cut off the scammers when they started mail forwarding few months ago.
Now not only you don't exchange email address, but you have an option to report scam, or unwanted mail. I have several adds on CL for over a year (selling something, adding something) and did not get scam, nor spam for at least 5 months.
That said CL is giving you limited exposure. With cars that I wanted to get rid off - ebay was unbeatable.
  • I've used all the trader publications, rvbuys and craigslist. I quit using the traders and the buys when they quit making the ad magazines in print form, several years ago. So now I just use craigslist.
  • RV Trader also has scammers. The forums have caught and even informed the rightful owners in the past, that their coaches were being listed without their knowledge by scammers.

  • problem with craigslist, is that its full of scammers. Id be very careful with people that inquire on CL.
