All the newer 1/2 ton trucks of today are capable of pulling/hauling weights that the 3/4 ton trucks were rated at just five or ten years ago. It's amazing what the 2012 F-150 EcoBoost is rated at.
By the way Blackcell, I know of at least one of those F-150 EcoBoost that's manhandling a Fox Mountain (just a tad bit heavier than your Keystone Outback) up there in your neck of the woods. Don't underestimate the newer half tons. And you, sir, have an incredable truck....capable of pulling probably twice the trailer that you're plling right now....just an incredable truck that F-350 Lariet KR! I haven't saw your particular truck but I know what they are and they're just an incredable truck and who would have guessed just a few years ago that a truck, a workhorse, would soon have seats that aren't only heated but also air conditioned.
All of the trucks are capable of pulling or hauling much more than they're rated at. It's the stopping and/or handling in an emergency situation that weight that limits them.
Just my opinion.
