We just recently decided to stay with our TT rather than go with a 5th wheel. We did get a RAM 1 ton dually (traded a Dodge 3/4 ton gas). We decided the difference in price (between our TT & a 5th wheel) was too great & the difference in amenities too small to be worthwhile. However, we are very happy with the diesel truck. We don't have to be too concerned about what we carry or any mountain highways we want to climb. The 3/4 ton was adequate, but just, for some of the roads we've been on. I particularly wanted the heavy duty brakes & jake break. It's one thing to just barely make it up a mountain, but I sure didn't want to get pushed down the other side or have the brakes over heat! We're also adding a camper shell on the truck bed for that all important storage that TTs are short on. Anyway, whatever you decide...have a great time!
