Auto coverage for full timers

We have recently switched insurance companies, out of necessity, and it seems to me that the majority of the ones I spoke with stipulate that the vehicle is housed or domiciled at the listed home address at least 10 months out of the year.

We're new full timers so I'm wondering what others do about that situation. I didn't notice that language until after we signed and paid for the coverage!

Thanks in advance,
  • From the Foremost website:

    Full-Timer Coverage.
This is a coverage very similar to a homeowners policy. This option covers you when you are parked and using your motor home as a residence, typically for extended periods of time.
  • Be sure to specify to your insurance quoter that you are looking for FULL TIMER insurance. Think of it as a combination home owners and auto insurance policy. i.e.Someone trips inside your rig, you're covered. Same with comprehensive. Total loss includes expanded coverage. IIRC, Foremost no longer writes full timer insurance. Progressive, Geico, FMCA and Good Sam are a few who do. Study the policy you're being quoted carefully. Don't buy strictly on price. Cheap isn't always better. You don't want to find out you're not covered properly when you need it after an incident......Dennis
  • Be careful with insurance. You may find that you have essentially auto insurance and may not be covered if you use the vehicle more than X days a year and may not have liability insurance unrelated to actual driving.

Foremost is a company that writes actual fulltimer insurance.
