I do bag poop from my dog, but only to keep things sanitary for humans. Likewise I don't bag used TP from humans in an effort to keep things sanitary for other humans.
Bringing animals into the equation just adds to the insanity as though cleaning up after your pet compares to keeping tank sensors clean by bagging TP.
The sensors are cheap and poorly designed. There are better sensors available for those who need them.
I quit using sensors years ago. I have no idea if they work or not since I don't use them.
