A quick internet search shows there are over 100,000,000 blogs on the internet. It is going to be awfully hard to stand out, especially if your blog specializes in relatively mundane photos. It is just a fact that photos of waterfalls, trees in fall colors, common animals etc. are just not going to attract a following. The vast majority of blogs are only viewed by a few friends and family, and often that viewing only occurs right before an in person visit (you know kind of like cramming for a college exam). Photography as a profession is a shrinking profession. High quality digital cameras and editing software makes it very difficult for all but the most determined photographer to make a living. For practical purposes, only high end wedding photographers and commercial photographers are making an income off photos. If all you want is people to view your work, just remember viewing a bunch or strangers' photos is a pretty good cure for insomnia. You will need a very good hook to have an active blog and I just don't see travel photos as good bait.
