I think the OP was commenting that he is a full-timer (lives aboard the RV), and that he is retired on a non-COLA indexed pension which doesn't increase.
So increased costs with no increases in income hurt - a lot.
In a similar situation, there are places we simply do not go because there is no way we would be willing to spend a month's camping costs on a single week.
We would not have been able to enjoy Washington DC area, or New Jersey right outside NYC last year if not for being able to stay at military bases for $20-24 per night. Even that is about the highest we can afford for a short stay. Certainly not for a long term stay.
