You don't need a big truck for a TH. Keep it in the 30-36' range and any of the newer SRW, 1 ton diesel trucks will be fine. and, you will have a practical veh to drive around with.
If you don't need a separate garage there are numerous choices. THs with a dedicated garage seem to be the larger ones and may put you into DRW territory.
Depending on how much space you need to "live" in will be the deciding factor. A TH or Class A will give you a lot of room, but with the MH you would need an enclosed trailer.
I would go with a good quality 20-24' enclosed trailer and carry a small get around car or maybe a Jeep as well as any other "toys" you wanted to take. (bikes, boat, kayaks, etc)
You could unload the car and have a nice workshop.
If it's just you, I would think about a DRW truck and a large 2 or 3 slide truck camper and tow the above trailer. Much more versatile but it will limit your "living" space.
All RVs are a compromise in one way or another.
Something I'm discovering is I have way too much "stuff". Keep only what you really need and use and you may be surprised how litle you have.
Good luck.
