Tinner,
Thanks for the advice.
I have started to morph over to a LP solution as well. I am still looking at a secondary source of heating solution as I want to ensure that in case of an epic furnace failure, I can still heat the unit adequately as it will be weeks before a new furnace to be ordered and delivered based on location.
Iam thinking of a LP tankless water heater with glycol in floor heating and a heat exchanger for on demand hot water and insulating the floor and lines with spray insulation. Not only will this up the R-value of the floor, add in floor heat, but it will also heat and insulate the tanks and water lines.
My largest concern is heating failure at -40 temps and the remote location. We can always move to a hotel or other warm accommodations but really not looking forward to competely replacing the water line set and tanks.
There is a large contingent of people who live year around in rv's in Fort McMurray. A plus to adding this type of mod to our 43' mobile suites would be the potential for additional resale value and quicker sale when our home is rebuilt.
Thanks for the advice.
