Barb is right that the one thing you can't get back is time. Too many people wait too long to do what they really want. If money becomes an issue you can always slow down and workcamp or volunteer, which will save you a lot of money and still allow you to travel the country.
We retired early, at 50/52 and figure we can work as greeters at Walmart if we need to- but so far we are doing fine!
