I've searched the forum for answers on this, as well as the SD state sites, but cannot quite find them. We're about to change domiciles from Kansas to SD. Does anyone know what the process is, if any, for switching my Kansas Concealed Carry Permit to SD? I wasn't sure if I needed to go through a complete course again, or a test or what? Thanks!

In florida the website list states that honor our ccw. There are about 35. some have different restrictions, but your existing permit may cover you there too. I suggest you check out reciprocity.

I moved from PA to CO...once I became a CO resident my PA ccw was no longer good...have to take a day long class, shoot the next day (100 bucks)..sheriff fee of 50 bucks, and fingerprint with some other dept fee of 65 bucks!!...my PA ccw cost 20 bucks and took 15 minutes!!

CCW is a state license, not federal. Many states do not honor another states CCW. So even if you have a SD CCW it will not be legal to conceal carry in most other states.

There can be issues with CCW when you are no longer a resident of the state the permit is issued in. Look for clauses for permits for non residents.

Varying rules as well for states that honor other states CCW. Do your homework

All have reciprocity maps and info to find local laws as you travel.

what would reciprocity have to do with anything, once he moves to South Dakota his ccw in his old state is no good, he does not live there anymore so it is not a valid permit.
