Essentials for Full time

We are selling our home next spring and moving our travel trailer to a few acres we own. We eventually build a small house. What are the essentials you need in the RV to make day to day smooth? My biggest concern is I will still be working full time (hubby retired) and I need a good way to store dress clothes.

  • There is a YouTube Channel called Pure Living for Life. While many of the things they have done are not very logical (first major build project was an elevated hot tub !??? :R), but they did do a couple of smart things.

    • Shelter Logic "portable" garage, big enough for the trailer
    • wood "porch"
    • septic
    • water supply

If you can't get a shipping container, put up a second portable garage.
  • I would buy either a large storage shed or a conex container and put a washer / dryer and extra refrigerator in it - then you'll have lots of extra storage space for clothes. Not that you want to run out to the container to get dressed, but you can move your seasonal clothes and some that you seldom wear out there.

The washer will save trips to the laundromat and your time. You can use the extra refer space - look for a used one on Craig's List.

If you go traveling, you don't have to take all of your stuff with you, leave some of it in the container.
