full timing

while full timing how long to most of you stay in one place?

how much does it cost most of you per month to full time?

how do you go about choosing where you stay?

i know this may be a touchy subject and i'm really only asking for ballpark figures. many thanks to all who feel comfortable answering.

Fifth year full timing...first year we rarely spent more than four days at a park. Last year our average stay was 7 as many parks offer buy 6 get 7. Depends on where you are and what there is to see and do in the area. We like to spend two weeks in the north part of the State, two in the south and two in the middle. We rarely travel more than 3 hours between campgrounds and do not use the Interstates.

We average about $3-4k/ month which includes food/fuel/lodging. We don't eat out much and choose our CGs wisely.

We belong to GS, Passport America, Thousand Trails and RPI. Selecting a campground is a personal choice. We don't do too much boondocking and have never stayed at a WalMart. We prefer full hookups including sewer. YMMV....

you have asked a complex complicated multi answer question
    Monthly costs depend on
    1)Size,COST and style of MH
2)what quality of RV resort u want to stay in
    3) type of fuel and fuel milage your MH gets
4)age of MH and worth regarding insuranace costs
5)how much in house cooking verses resturants
    6) miles traveled per week or month
    7) hydro cost when in RV resports
8)plus many many factors that differ for ever person whom fulltimes
  • Although I don't full time, I have often inquired about monthly rates at places I've stayed. They are all over the place usually based on location and how nice the place is. My wife was looking at a job in Southern California once and if she took it we would have spent a few months in the MH. There was a decent RV park in Huntington Beach that was right across the highway from the State Beach and they wanted $1200 a month. I didn't think that was a bad price at all considering the location. There is an RV park in Boron (middle of the Mojave Desert) that has a sign advertising a $350 a month monthly rate. It's all about location.
