Personal needs dictate what will work for you.
Here's how we decided on our set-up......
2 adults & 1 large dog.
Didn't want a travel trailer due to lack of storage (full timing with all of our possessions......no rented storage place) and ceiling height.
Didn't want a motorhome......toad needed which usually is a smaller size car. I'm a big guy and don't do small vehicles of any kind.
So 5th wheel with Quad Cab Longbed truck met our needs.
Storage........lots. More than needed.
Full ceiling height...top of my head does NOT get anywhere near the ceiling
Overall length is very manageable.
And I can get in/out of truck without having to fold up in the fetal position.
Overall height is a factor.....need to pay attention to what is UP
Some say that if you move frequently a MH is the way to go. And staying put longer periods a 5th wheel is the ticket.
Don't hold to that myself....
We travel weekly/bi-monthly, rarely staying put. Hitching/unhitching is not a big deal.....45 mins and we are ready to go OR sit and relax.
Folks FT in every type of rig.
Make a list of your needs and then go find the one that closely matches those needs.
