You'll find everyone has their own style of travel and their own style of living.
Since we aren't retired and DH is still working fulltime, we found a 5th wheel and large TV was the most practical form of living for us. We park the unit and move into a new community 2-3X's a year.
We actually don't find it much different than living in 3000sf, just fewer rooms to clean. We remodeled to fit our comfort level and traveling to each new project with DH and 2 cats has become very easy.
I cook most of our meals and even make DH's lunch when he's too far to come home each day to watch "The Price is Right". Has taken a few adjustments, but cooking for 2 is easier than for 8+.
It took us 3X to get the right RV (OR-10mos-40', ES-2.75 yrs-36' and MS-4.5-38'). The MS has the right floorplan, adequate insulation and right size to pull comfortably. Sometimes, we think we'd like to trade for a new one with additional features. But we've made this one so comfortable, hate to spend even more for brand new. We only need a few more tweaks and we'd be able to save more for retirement.
