Fulltiming with 8 K9's RV parks? lol

OK so yes we are nuts, but we are about to go fulltiming for the 2nd time. did it 10 yrs ago, but wasn't quite ready. we are now retired, ready to go, but we have a passle of little rescue senior, or broken dogs (throw-aways) and before you say give em away, it ain't gonna happen, they are our family. That being said we have 8,that travel well, none over 15lbs. so except for boondocking, are there any dog friendly remote places in the west, or warmish climate, with water, sewer? we are solar, and don't need power.. ok suggestions?? but BE NICE!

Thanks, K9 mom & dad

  • I honestly think you will be better served using all federal and state campgrounds. As one poster already pointed out, most places will not allow more than a couple dogs per site. Unless all of your canines are extremely well trained, ie. never bark at strangers, under control off leash, etc....you will certainly get complaints from fellow campers. I am not a "animal basher", I spent a good part of my career as a State Police K-9 Officer.
  • I agree, most campgrounds have a max of 2 dogs and other RV'ers will complain about too many dogs, you will be asked to leave.

Boondock or don't go full-time if you choose to keep them all. Doesn't matter if you only take out 2 at a time, everyone knows how many you have and will report it.

The CG has rules for a reason or everyone would be bringing 5-10 dogs. Nobody wants a 100+ dogs in an RV park.
  • ps we don't take all the dogs out at once, 2 at a time, they are not barkers,1/2 are blind, others are crippled, and we clean up after them..

As much as I love dogs and have owned a lot of them through out my life I think your going to find it hard to camp in a campground with that many dogs. Most of the campgrounds that I've been in have a MAX of 3 dogs if not 2. Plus, all it takes is one person to complain about you and your dogs and most likely you'll be asked to leave....JMHO. I think the best way for you to get into a campground with that many dogs is to ask to camp in their safari field, if they have one.

  • I can't help with your request.

But, I did want to congratulate and thank you for your work with animals. We need more people like you. :)

Enjoy full timing and your travels.
