There must be a compromise in there somewhere.
What about getting a condo / apt etc. in your hometown and taking shorter trips of a few months at a time? And, when you don't want o travel, have your husband go RVing without you?
My plan is to keep my townhouse and take trips of varying lengths, as it suits my whims at any given time, then, returning to my home and community until I'm ready to leave again. I can take just so much of superficial relationships developed at campgrounds and such. My long term friendships are those that support and nourish me.
