Lots of good ideas here! Here's my 2 cents: I believe you want to make this work, or you would simply be putting your foot down right now. Just because something is the "right" decision doesn't necessarily mean it will be easy at first.
Becoming accustomed to change TAKES TIME. If you can take some of these suggestions to ease the disorientation while you give yourself time to see if you will ultimately like this way of life, without instantly jumping to the conclusion that it's not for you (as you haven't done; congratulations for being so brave!), you may reap an enormous reward at the end.
Here are my two practical suggestions that no one else has mentioned:
(1) Get a small dog, or a cat. Having to focus on taking care of a little one might help some with the empty nest syndrome you would be experiencing even if you were still at home, with your daughter suddenly gone.
(2) A brand new web group has been formed just for RVers who want a way to keep in touch with the people they meet. It was formed in partnership with Chris and Cherie of Technomadia, so you can be assured this is a quality group: RVillage.com
And here is my very favorite quote, which seems apropos for the situation: "One does not discover new lands without consenting to lose sight of the shore for a very long time."
