while I am not fulltiming yet, I have worked to make my TT my home (away from home).. doxiemom suggested personalizing it. that was one of the things I did right away. there is no reason you can't hang pictures.. replace glass in frames with plastic or use frames that come with plastic (like poster frames) put the pics you want and hang with command strips. get rid of (or store) the ugly bedspread and pillows that may have come with your rig. replace with something you buy that you like. I replaced the bedspread, bought pillows, throws and even a storage cube/footstool in the colors I wanted. I took the blah beige and brown and now have burgundy, pink and bright green. I printed photos from my travels that had those colors and hung them on every available spot of wall (well almost). It sure helps to wake up and look at the beautiful lake view instead of beige wall.
I do have the advantage that my DD, SIL and DGD live away. DD has not lived at home since college and will likely never come back here. DS is still at home attending college, but often travels and already has a 3 month summer job lined up (where he will be living 600 miles away). He has already said he doesn't plan to stay in the area when he graduates. So my plans are to visit the areas where the kids are when the weather is nice and stay south during the winter.
I also agree that staying somewhere longer and volunteering or workkamping may help you feel more a part of the community where you are. As a single female for a number of years, I have found that I have to get involved to keep from feeling lonely and sitting around home. Having to get out and go do what I have signed up for, forces me not to sit in house or rv and vegetate. I am truly happier out and interacting with other people. (think I inherited that trait from both of my parents - they were both active in the community and sociable people).
