Golden has it correct I think and on top of that you have to consider what this move will do to your Car insurance rates.
Out of the 50 states Oregon is number 26 in the highest car insuranc rates. South Dakota is number 32...well down the list and cheaper.
My insurance rates were cut in Half when I "moved" to SD.
Also Oregon, to make up for it's lack of a state income tax has quite high auto registration fees, being a rather anti-car state doesnt help.
I just bought a brand new Dodge 4x4 Diesel 2500 in Oregon and the registration and fees would have been more than twice the cost of my SD plates.
I'd think through this carefully if I were you.
