How long to get ready?

I guess it depends on what else you have going on at the time and how much assistance you have. For me it was almost 10 months overall. With most of that time taken up by getting rid of all my "stuff" and getting the house ready to sell. I was still working fulltime then and I'm single, so it was done mainly on weekends. Once my house went on the market, it actually sold within 30 days, and that meant I had to move into the motorhome during my final 30 days at work, before retirement and hitting the road.
