That is exactly why I'm shopping price...when I find the dentist I will visit...the first thing I want is a second opinion....do you agree? - mikeleblanc413ExplorerAs to a fistfull of dollars...you don't feel uncomfortable carrying so much money on you? How do you handle it?

No problem carrying money anywhere as long as other don't know it, and if you can't lose $10 don't carry that much. My wife in Fla. 20 years ago put her bag down under the front seat of the car, we went over the bank to the sea, when we returned they had found it and take $650, that life be more careful, move on.
As to a fistfull of dollars...you don't feel uncomfortable carrying so much money on you? How do you handle it? - Roads_Less_TravExplorer IIWe've had lots of dental work done in Mexico and have been really impressed each time.
If you are in Yuma, go to San Luis and see Dr. Bernal. Walk across the border and not far in on the other side you'll see a large tooth statue and a sign "Family Dental"
My husband got a porcelain crown there for $130. We walked in off the street at 4:00 pm on Friday and he had the new crown installed shortly after noon the next day (Saturday!).
His lab is across the street from his office, so the service is very fast.
While there, we met a large group from Las Vegas that rents a car every year and gathers all their friends and family together to drive down to Dr. Bernal and get all their dental work done. I wrote a magazine article about our experience… I would go back in a heartbeat.
My other favorite Mexican dentist is down in Zihuatanejo… a little far by RV but great if you are flying in for a beach vacation!!
Go halfway down this page, it's called "A Mexican Crown"

I have just visited the Dr. Rubio site...I'm more impressed with his site than I am the dentist who gave me an $8800 bill! Question: do they take credit cards, checks, cash?
I believe Clinica Rubio is one of the few who take plastic. But use the "contact us" button and ask to make sure. Glad you like it, we did a lot of research before choosing that dentist. - Mike_LeClairExplorerJust last week in Algodones, 8 crowns, 3 root canals, $1,900.00. My dentist back home would have charged at least $10,000.00 for the same work.
Cheers!
Mike - USMC46ExplorerI had extensive dental work done with and via a dentist in Nuevo Progresso, I needed implants. He referred me to a specialist where I had two extractions and eight implants done in one setting. (That was my choice as I was going to Iraq in a few months and needed to get them all done). I had no unusual bleeding and all healed well and then the crowns went on. So, a lot of implants and many crowns and a root canal, and I think it was all under $18000 spread out over some time. I would rate the dentists I used as certainly equal to and better than many I have used in the US. The dentist who did my implants was a maxillofacial surgeon.
- KlueckExplorerI was also going to check the Wheeling it Blog.. She is happy with her dental work.
- SteveRuffExplorerMy wife had extensive work done in the Rubio clinic. She had root canals, extractions, crowns, implants, bone grafts, etc. Our estimate here in the states was $50,000 +. The + is because they told her it might be more if they found additional problems after they got started. We were very secure in feeling there was little chance they wouldn't find something more as they went! This work was done over a 2 year period with the total cost being $17,000. The kicker is that this year a dentist in the states told her she had "pockets" again due to not being able to floss properly between the teeth in her bridge. We went back to Rubio who examined her, agreed, and had the bridge removed and separate implants put in its place. THIS WAS AT NO CHARGE! Yes. We are sold on the Rubio Clinic. BTW, they took no credit cards but did take our personal check.
