Insulating window for winter

I was going to use the thin reflective insulation that comes in rolls to put over my windows for insulation. I do have a de-humidifier but someone brought up the fact that I would still get condensation under the insulation and probably mold in the window frame. Anyone have any thoughts on this. Heard some people just put heavy drapes or something over windows instead.

TIA

  • Thanks, Rob. Was thinking of putting the pink foam board insulation around slide-outs or the reflective foil but someone mentioned if water got under it it might do some sort of damage. Any thoughts on that?
  • We use the bubble foil cut to fit inside the window frames (on the inside). We pull the shades down to keep it in place. We do get some condensation on cold nights, but have not had any problems with mold. We are full-timers, though, and frequently pull the insulation out and wipe the windows, air out the RV, and run the ACs when appropriate to pull out moisture. We've known a number of people who use this approach without issues. (And it really helps!)
